Snapper fishing in the St. Pete Beach, Tampa Bay Area is top notch right now! This is not your typical offshore, deep sea fishing trip that requires long boat rides and big waves. This is close to shore, light tackle, sport fishing. We have had great success the past few weeks chumming the snapper off the wrecks and up to the top of the water, once the fish are up high we down size our tackle and fish very light spinning rods with no weight. This type of fishing is visual and loads of fun.

While doing this we have also caught many grouper, cobia, mackerel, bonita, kingfish, and sharks. This near shore fishery is in great shape and has a ton of options for all anglers. This is also a great time to get the kids and family out for some great action and great eating fish.

The redfish action in the St. Pete Beach, Redington Beach, Treasure Island, and Maderia Beach are is red hot. Large bunches of redfish are making their way from Tampa Bay out towards the Gulf and are hungry! Large schools of hungry fish means one thing, lots of action. Mixed in with the redfish has been snook, trout, and flounder.

Along with the great inshore action, just offshore we have had excellent mackerel and shark fishing. Each day we get a bonus species of some kind, lately it has been cobia and tripletail. Both styles of fishing are great for everyone, families with kids or seasoned fishermen looking for a great time.

Shark Fishing in the St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, Maderia Beach area has been red hot. A large amount of bait fish have made their way into our waters and right behind them are all the predators. We have started each day by anchoring over live bottom and chumming. This has produced non stop action on light tackle for cobia, spanish mackerel, kingfish, bonita, jacks, and bluefish. take long for the sharks to join in. They usually first appear by jumping and chasing after your fish while you are reeling it in. Once they show up we put out a few shark baits and HOLD ON! Most sharks have been blacktip spinner sharks which make incredible jumps but there has been an occasional hammerhead mixed in.

A large influx of bait to the St. Pete Beach and Maderia Beach shorelines has brought a decent amount of predators with it. Large blacktip sharks, spanish mackerel, bonita, cobia, and even a few kingfish have made there presence felt this past week and more and more should show up each week going into Fall. Anchoring up and chumming has produced feeding frenzies and have basically turned the water into a fish tank with all the species around, if that doesnt work slow trolling has been the ticket. Now is an excellent time to get the kids and the family out for a little light tackle fun fishing. Tampa Bay has many great options for anglers of all sizes this time of year. Inshore fishing with the kids has been producing many species and a ton of action. Not only that but there has been plenty of fish to take home and eat. St. Pete Beach is close by just in case a dip in the water is needed to cool everyone off.

Tarpon fishing in the Tampa and St. Pete Beach area still continues to be good as we roll into summer. Tarpon are strong and powerful but that doesn’t do it for everyone especially kids. Now is the perfect time for some Family Fun Fishing in and around Redington Beach, Treasure Island, Passa Grille, and St. Petersburg. Tarpon have made their way onto our local beaches in fairly decent number early this week and more fishing should be coming every day. Tarpon fishing has been real good first thing in the morning and then we have been coming inside on the flats and catching tons of speckeled trout and a few redfish and snook mixed in. Look for tarpon fishing to really get red hot going into the summer months.

The warmer than usual Spring has an early push of tarpon in our area and ready to bite! The tarpon have made their presence felt over the past few days with good action on live bait being the key. We have jumped multiple fish eah trip and should expect the fishing to only improve. If you are looking for big fish, increadible jumps, and line screaming action, this is your fish.

The tarpon have arrived here in our area and the fishing is fantastic. The tarpon are located around the bridges and surrounding areas and are filling themselves with plenty of food in preparation for the summer spawn. Look for tarpon activity to increase weekly as we move closer to the summer but the initial push of fish are here!

The kingfish fishing along St. Pete Beach has been red hot. Large catches of fish have been thenorm with many fish pushing 30 pounds. Mixed in with the kingfish has been spanish mackerel, sharks, bonita, and barracuda. Look for this action to continue through Spring Break.
